German EOY

Argh. I hate the scr3wed up listening comprehension. But other than that, nothing much except for some ambiguous questions. The lowest possible score I can get is 90m. Which means that the paper was moderately hard. Haiz... should have mugged more. And what is a Vokabeln?

Oh lols, AJ said today that whatever words we don't know in the exams we should go home and look it up. So lame. Like for people who have nothing to do but to continue lookng at their test papers and trying to find out what went wrong but who are actually wallowing in self-pity over low marks and such and such. I mean I got like 13/20 for Futility, which is two marks more than I got for the MOV CCT, and you don't see me going around mugging it. -.- Wowzers. But nevertheless, I will find out what Vokabeln is because of a good reason.

I haven't got the test paper back yet so it will not be possible that I am wallowing in self-pity and there will be no suspicion that I even think that I won't be doing well (because, in fact, I'm going to do well but that's not the point). And also, it may not even be a mistake, so I may not be able to learn from it, which implies a lack of learning which means that it has nothing to do with mugging. The next point is because it is German and is not Lit, so whatever AJ says has nothing whatsoever related to it.

I now have my German dictionary with me and I am preparing for the worst because I am a retarded pessimist, which means that I will either be correct, or pleasantly surprised. You could look at it as a win-win sitaution or a lose-lose situation, depending on your inclination to the positives and negatives reverse psychological mindset of your consciousness. In fact, I don't even understand the last 9 words of the previous sentence so that means that I'm just being random.

That's cool. I looked up Vokabeln in the dictionary it means 'Vocabulary'. Oh yeah, that means a full marks in the Vocabulary part of the paper! Lols. But the Vocab part isn't explicitly name 'Vokabeln' obviously, so despite popular belief, you can't tell the meaning of the word just like that. I simply half-remembered that Vokabeln had something to do with Vocabulary. The other half of me remembered that it was a broken tape recorder. Obviously, it was not the latter. Yay! I am now pleasantly surprised!

The rest of the paper wasn't too bad. There was an Aufsatz, of which I had to shorted my initial composition of 134 words back down to 100 because Frau Heng specifically said that if we overshot then it would be kena jack and marks will be deducted. I simply cancelled out lots of ambiguous and irrelevant adjective as well as shortened conjunctions into concise phrases, as well as take away random modifier phrases. Pretty well done, I checked the sentences several times over to make sure that there was no mistake in the Partizip II.

After the paper, I was rather pleased to find that I had got full marks for Oral (the one I took on Tuesday). Wow, that's cool. And perhaps I am also to blame for Wasiq not scoring full marks. He got a 12, I think, out of 15. As for Trauma Center on the way back home, I epic failed, but perhaps that was because I was doing a hard operation as a newbie. Bah.

Not really sure if mugging last night made any difference, perhaps not. Also note that F1 Qualifiers are tomorrow, and the actual thing is the following day on Sunday! Mr Shahrom bought tickets to watch it on Sunday. But I don't really think there is much to watch, just specks of dust and a blur and some loud revving noises, and that's about all, because you can barely see a Ferrari as it shoots past you.

Quotable Quotes

"So you do that 'To Kill a Mockingbird'."
-AJ, while trying to explain the inverted commas

"It's like asking you in part 1 'What is a real number?', then in part 2, 'What is..."
-AJ, about answering the question properly
"A fake number!"
-Raga

"Because its Bikini Bottom and that's where Spongebob is."
-Raveen. about why an island which was once a atomic bomb test site was named Bikini Island

"Because the blast could blow off someone's bikini."
-Jeremy, about the same island as above. The actual reason was because of the island's reputation as a test site, they lost alot of popularity amongst foreigners and there was little foreign investment. So, the natives decided to attract more trade and investors by inventing the bikini and getting their girls to wear them to attract tourists and cause a big boom in the tourism industry. Pretty interesting, really.

"How do I off this thing here?"
-Ms Tan, asking how to switch the projector off
"Uhh, you press the 'off' button."
-Raveen, rather matter-of-factly

"Bobby! Bobby!"
-Zexi, calling with a stress and up-pitch on the last syllable
"Zexi! Zexi!"
-Bobby, saying it in the same way to emphasize annoyance

"I worry for the Prefectorial Board with you in it."
-Mr Shahrom, to Jeremy

"What 'Oja'? What language is that?"
-Mr Ang, when we replaced 'Ohh ya!' with 'Ohhh ja!'

"Same business lah, they all sell milk."
-Jasper, alluding to the tainted milk news story

"Ok lah, india! India! India!"
-Jasper, when he only got Distinction for AMC and was suanned
"China! China! China!"
-Raga, as a counter

"Why don't you just write 'look at the figure?'"
-Me, suggesting a way to express the angle at which extended line AB and XY intersected, whilst Mr Ang was having a hard time deciding that proper mathematical statement for it

"Selamat Hairy Raya."
-Jasper, being random
